From This Day Forward Marriage Conference
Orlando, FL * September 30, 2006

Orlando, FL—On September 30, 2006, over 100 married couples from several cities in Florida, as well as from far away in Illinois participated in From This Day Forward, a one-day celebration of marriage commitment opened to the general public and held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Altamonte Springs, a suburb of Orlando, Florida.

Sponsored by Family Ministries of the North American Division and co-sponsored by the Southern Union Conference and the Florida and Southeastern Conferences, this is the fourth of four From This Day Forward marriage conferences taking place across North America in 2006.  Marriage conferences have already taken place in Oklahoma City, OK; Phoenix, AZ and Boston, MA earlier this year.

The event consisted of presentations made by Allan and Deirdre Martin from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Brenda and Mike Aufderhar from the Upper Columbia Conference and Elaine and Willie Oliver from NAD Family Ministries.
During a day that lasted from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, couples dealt with issues of oneness, communication, problem solving, sexual oneness and forgiveness.

“It was well worth it!”  “This session was one of the best I have ever attended.  I will by God’s grace, do all I can to make my marriage better.”  “It was inspiring and helpful.” “Every couple should attend a seminar like this.” These were among the many comments made by participants in their evaluation of the conference.

The event concluded with a renewal of wedding vows and the challenge to each couple to rededicate their lives and marriages as a reflection of God’s goodness to the world. Thirty of the participants requested Bible studies and are being followed-up.

Four From This Day Forward marriage conferences are schedule for 2007. For registration information please logon to www.adventistfamilyministries.com, or call 301.680.6462.
